Dr. Funk Practicing at Memorial Health Center Clinics - Phillips
(Phillips) Family Medicine Physician Dean Funk, MD, is now providing care for the entire family at Memorial Health Center Clinics’ new clinic location in Phillips. The clinic, which welcomed its first patient June 29, is accepting new patients.Dr. Funk has studied medicine for 30 years and has practiced it for over 26 years. Board certified in Family Medicine, he is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Wisconsin and Price County Medical Societies, and is an Associate Professor in Family Medicine at UW Madison Medical School.He’s been a Family Medicine physician with Memorial Health Center Clinics since June 2009, providing care at the clinic in Prentice before transferring his practice to the Phillips location.Dr. Funk earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Southern Illinois University in Belleville, Illinois, and his Fellowship in Surgical Obstetrics at Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.He describes himself as an extrovert who enjoys periodic introspection, and as someone who loves animals and plants (even selected bacteria). He enjoys studying and teaching the martial art Aikido, reading history, sailing, and being outside in all types of weather. He grew up in Illinois, but chose to practice medicine in central Wisconsin because of the beauty and serenity of the Northwoods.Memorial Health Center Clinics - Phillips is open Monday through Friday and is located at 625 Peterson Avenue, Phillips.
